Current FNAW Sub-Committees:
Information-sharing
This committee gathers and shares information on recent events, policies,
and social or political issues facing Afghan women and the women's
movements in Afghanistan.
Policy and Advocacy
This committee updates FNAW members on current policy advocacy
opportunities in North America and Afghanistan, and proposes advocacy
initiatives for action to members of the Executive Committee.
Donor Collaboration
This committee facilitates the sharing of information among like-minded
funders that might be willing to collaborate on funding initiatives in
Afghanistan. This may include leveraging funds by jointly-funding projects;
information-sharing on local groups in Afghanistan; and creating linkages
with other donor networks or new donors.
Institutional Capacity-Building
This committee works with Afghan women's organizations seeking funding
resources to provide them with assistance in contacting appropriate donors,
formualting proposals, and designing their projects sustainably and
oriented towards results.
Governance Committee
This committee proposes new FNAW members to the Executive Committee, and is responsible for creating and modifying the governance structure and membership dues when necessary. The committee also carries out outreach activities for FNAW and is responsible for any compensated engagements of staff, consultants or interns.
