Recent FNAW Events
On March 14th in New York city, FNAW hosted a panel event on “Women and Public Space in Afghanistan”

Four Afghan-American speakers, Awista Ayub of Afghan Youth Sports Exchange, Zolaykha Sherzad of Zarif Designs, Dr. Nadia Hashimi of Afghan Communicator, and Rabia Zahir, an artist discussed different aspects of bringing women into public space such as women’s participation in cultural life, in art, design and sports.

The “Women and Public Space” panel event kicks off our 2008 priority area for needed funding. FNAW aims to encourage donors to support organizations working in this area and to further explore strategies for giving women access to public life.
